A Summary of the 2008 scholarships available to Garrett High School seniors is listed below. Scholarships are listed in alphabetical order by the first word in the title.

To help reduce paperwork and simplify the application process, scholarships that have the same eligibility criteria have been grouped together. You will be applying for all of the scholarships in that group with one cover page, application and essay (if required). Submit only one (1) copy of the required forms for each group.

Auburn Cord Duesenberg Fesitval Automotive Scholarship	One-time	Automotive related	Financial need may be given higher consideration
Carol L. Hill Memorial Scholarship	One-time	Any	Child/dependent of a Courier employee (Kendallville, Indiana) -or- senior from Garrett High School
DeKalb County Extension Homemakers Scholarship	One-time	Any	Active 4-H member for 5 years -or- Extension Homemakers Club member for 3 years. Includes children of active members of 3 years.
DeKalb County Farm Bureau Inc. Presidential Scholarship	One-time	Any	Parent or guardian must be a member of Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc.
DeKalb County Master Gardener Scholarship	One-time	Plant sciences, landscape design, horticulture -or- related fields	GPS of 6.0 (C+) or higher, vocational and trade schools also eligible to apply
DeKalb Financial Credit Union Scholarship	One-time	Any	DeKalb Financial Credit Union Member
DeKalb Young Farmers Scholarship	One-time	Ariculture -or- consumer & family science related fields	Involvement in agricultural/consumer & family sciences activities
Delta Kappa Gamma Society Scholarship	One-time	Education	Female
Earl & Marie Schulthess Scholarship	Renewable	Any	Financial need will be taken into consideration
Floyd Deetz Food Service Scholarship	One-time	Restaurant & Institutional Management, culinary arts	Full-time student in a food service program
George Witwer Evening Star Scholarship	One-time	Journalism	Open to graduates of DeKalb County schools as well
Harold D. Stump Scholarship	One-time	Any	Abstain from drugs and alcohol
Ilene R. Sliger Agriculture Scholarship	One-time	Any	Have some type of agricultural background (4-H, FFA, farming). Open to both 2 and 4 year degree programs.
Ilene R. Sliger Office Administration/Practical Arts Scholarship	One-time	Office -or- pratical arts related	Open to both 2 and 4 year degree programs. Vocational schools are eligible as well.
Marvin & Phyllis Walker Agriculture Scholarship	One-time	Agriculture	Attend Purdue University
Robert & Virginia White Scholarship	Renewable	Any	Vocational/technical schools also eligible
Roger D. Weimer Memorial Scholarship	One-time	Education	Financial need will be a consideration. Good academic standing
Starkey Science Scholarship	One-time	Any	Participant in current year’s science fair
Warren G. Sunday Memorial Scholarship	One-time	Vocational -or- technical fields	Priority to students with financial need
Winifred Peters Scholarship - NEW!	One-time	Elementary Teaching	GPA of 6.0 (C+) or higher
