Scholarship funds enable students to pursue their educational goals. Donors have the opportunity to help design the criteria for the awards. Scholarships can be designed for students of a particular school or for studies in specific fields.

Unrestricted Grantmaking Fund:
An unrestricted fund enables the DeKalb County Community Foundation’s board of directors to respond to the community’s changing needs. Donors who establish unrestricted funds create a living legacy that will grow and change as the community does. Grants from these funds support nonprofit organizations that serve DeKalb County. Income from unrestricted funds is returned to the community in the form of grants.

Non-Permanent Funds
Nonpermanent funds are established for specific community needs or short-term projects. Gifts to the funds are not permanently invested but are paid out in full as the projects are completed.

Charitable Gift Annuities:
A charitable gift annuity provides lifetime income to the beneficiary and immediate tax benefits to the donor. When the fund matures, the assets that remain are directed to a charity chosen by the donor.
